Hi Adrian,
Come on in, the house might be crowded, but don't worry there's room for you!

i`ve been "hanging around" on this jw.net for a while, so this is my very first posting.
i`m a former jw from germany, learnt the truth at the age of 20, got babtized 3 years later, and left the wt (for various reasons) about 4 years ago.
so i just like to say a warm friendly "hello" to everyone.
Hi Adrian,

in the book of psalms the jw's teach that in the paradise to come each will have their "own vineyard, build their own home, a mere boy will play over the hole of a cobra, the wolf and the lamb will eat straw".
how where you taught?
when i went through the live forever book they applied it to the future- after armagedon during the 1000 year rein.
Hi Megaflower,
I am no Bible scholar, but when I was in and growing up, it was always my belief that it was pertaining to the end of this system of things, when in Paradise all humankind and the animal realm would be at peace with one another. As an example, animals not attacking or eating each other, because they would be eating straw or vegetation. This scripture says nothing to the affect that it was referring to only the Jews. It refers to all the meek and righteous who will inherit the earth, that being anyone. (remember Ps. 37:10,11) There is more scriptures if needed.
There is one important point I would like to make: I have been out near 25 years, and now that I am out, if I just use the Bible without constraints and pray for the wisdom, I still come to that conclusion of what I mentioned above.
I hope this helped, if not I'll try again!
Sincerely, Truth and Justice May Happy Trails come your way
hello everyone hope there is room for another newbie.. i feel like i know all of you from reading your posts over the last months.. and i must thank you all for your great and very informative posts.
it has really reinforced all the things that i had been feeling for years.
my husband and i were both raised in the "truth".
Hi Outofservice,
I like to first say "Welcome", the house is crowded, but we like to squeeze in as many as we can get in. In my own opinion, I have noticed alot of new people joining this site, which reflects badly on the organization's numbers. If Jehovah's spirit was directing the organization, then I wouldn't be on this site, but as it is they are failing. I am sure you will find some interesting folks here to share some stories.
I have found this thought to be very true for so many people: Jer 23:32
"Here I am against the prophets of false dreams," is the utterance of Jehovah, "who relate them and cause my people to wander about because of their falsehoods and because of their boasting."
One day we will all be together in true peace and we won't have to hide under our computer username.
Until the next time, Sincerely, Truth and Justice May Happy Trails come your way!

Hi Password protected,
An interesting comment I take from what you said was your phrase "Any Genuine Christain", they have really never been geniune in my opinion, although I don't want to lump them all together. There is probably about 1% that are, but are simply afraid of the consequences. When you're genuine, you have love. Good point.

Hi to all on Forum,
I want to set the stage first:
It was in the mid-to late 70's, I woke up one morning to a gloomy day, because the weather was expected to be very snowy. I got up quite excited, but nervous. The reason being was that I was going to be Baptized at the Circut Assembly. Once the trip there was done, we got out and walked inside. As many of you are familiar with this routine, it was that all persons being baptized were to sit in the first 5 or 6 rows that morning, because when the baptism talk was given, the speaker would be looking at you mostly. So there I was, the speaker gets done with talk and he ask those individuals to please stand so he could ask you the 2 questions that you would answer in a "robotic" way the word "Yes". These were the Questions:
These were the questions of 1950's and 1960's:
1. Have you recognized yourself before Jehovah God as a sinner who needs salvation, and have you acknowledged to him that this salvation proceeds from him, the Father, through his Son Jesus Christ?
2. On the basis of this faith in God and in his provision for salvation, have you dedicated yourself unreservedly to God to do his will henceforth as he reveals it to you through Jesus Christ and through the Bible under the enlightening power of the holy spirit?
Then in the 1970's:
1. Have you repented of your sins and turned around, recognizing yourself before Jehovah God as a condemned sinner who needs salvation, and have you acknowledged to him that this salvation proceeds from him, the Father, through his Son Jesus Christ?
2. On the basis of this faith in God and in his provision for salvation, have you dedicated yourself unreservedly to God to do his will henceforth as he reveals it to you through Jesus Christ and through the Bible under the enlightening power of the holy spirit?
Then in the 1980's:
1. On the basis of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, have you repented of your sins and dedicated yourself to Jehovah to do his will?
2. Do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in association with God's spiriit-directed organization?
My personal thoughts:
Do any of you see what I am driving at? Did you notice the change in questions? Those last questions really disgust me, because when I got baptized, I truly dedicated myself to the Supreme one, (Jehovah). Though I am out of the organization or club, I still dedicate myself to him and only him. Being baptized does not mean that I'm not going to sin any more. I still will sin. In no way would I want to discourage any individual from being baptized because of what I brought up, this is only your choice. The 80 questions are senseless in my opinion, because if you believe in your Heavenly Father and in Jesus Christ, what more do you need? It is what is in your heart that matters. So when you stand up to answer those 2 questions, think about those vows. When a person says "Yes" to those questions, what it implies is that you agree to adhere to any of JW doctorine, comply with the rules and procedures to the JW religion, and whatever they deem to be necessary. 1 Cor. 1:13-15.
So anyway, these are my thoughts and now I will find another subject for next time. Good Evening to all!
Sincerely, Truth and Justice May Happy Trails come your way!!
